His Highness Sheikh Nasser dedicated the victory to a friend of Bahrain’s former victorious cyclist Gino Mader, who died last month from injuries sustained in a crash at the Tour de Suisse.
Sheikh Nasser said that the victory confirms the advanced level reached by the team, appreciating the sincere efforts of the cyclists and the technical and administrative staff to honor the Kingdom of Bahrain on the international arenas.
He said, “This performance will have an important impact on strengthening the distinguished position of the Kingdom of Bahrain in international sports, especially cycling, as the Bahrain Victorious team has become a milestone.”
With this historic victory, the victorious Bahrain team rose to fifth place in the overall standings by the end of the tenth stage. The team is fully prepared to compete in the next 11 stages to continue achieving outstanding results.
