Honda recalling 1.2 million US vehicles for rear camera issue

WASHINGTON, June 23 (BNA): The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said Friday that Honda Motor Co. (7267.T) is recalling 1.2 million vehicles in the United States because of a potential rear-view camera image problem.

The recall covers some 2018-2023 Odysseys, 2019-2022 Pilots, and 2019-2023 Passports. Reuters reports that due to a faulty coaxial cable connector in the connection, the rear view camera image may not appear on the screen.

Honda previously extended the warranty for vehicles affected by the problem in 2021. The automaker said in filing with NHTSA that it received 273,870 warranty claims related to the problem between May 2017 and June of this year, and there were no reports of injuries or deaths related to the problem. case call.
