National Guard President patronizes Military Marathon

Manama, Jan. 5 (BNA) His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, President of the National Guard, sponsored the closing ceremony of the military marathon and pistol shooting competition, which coincides with the 25th anniversary of the founding of the National Guard.

The tournament resulted in the victory of the Special Operations unit who finished the competition in 2:50:14.

The Chief of the National Guard handed over the Military Service Medal of the First Class to the Head of the Special Operations Unit Lt. Col. His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Muhammad Al Khalifa and the Military Service Medal of the Second Class to a number of officers for their dedication to performing their military duty in implementation of the royal order issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al successor.

He distributed three cups to the winners of three shooting ranges, individual shooting competitions, and a military marathon.

The Head of the National Guard expressed his pride in the honorable achievements made by the National Guard members in their duties and sports, stressing that they are a translation of the royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander.
