Nasser bin Hamad: Bahrain has good reputation in humanitarian work

Manama, November 30 (BNA) His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Honorary President of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, for his support of humanitarian work. He praised the continuous royal directives to serve the needy and preserve their dignity through multiple projects and achievements.

This came during a forum organized by the King Hussein Cancer Foundation on the occasion of its twentieth anniversary. Under the title “Strategy of humanitarian action in light of the reality of globalization, economic challenges and digital transformation”, the event was held at the Sofitel Hotel under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and with the participation of Arab and Gulf interested persons. His Highness Sheikh Nasser stressed Bahrain’s good reputation in humanitarian work, pointing to its achievements in this field through the King Hussein Cancer Foundation. For his part, the Secretary-General of the Health Care Corporation, Dr. Mustafa Sayed, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Majesty the King for his parental care of Bahraini orphans and his support for humanitarian work. He also praised the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, praising His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s leadership of the foundation’s march.

After a documentary film about the Foundation’s humanitarian work over a period of twenty years, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, Sheikh Adnan bin Abdullah Al-Qattan, delivered a speech in which he delivered directly the founding phase of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and the importance of such an edifice in caring for orphans. He also stressed the role of His Majesty the King in providing all forms of care and support to them.

Then the representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to the Gulf Cooperation Council Khaled Khalifa stressed the importance of cooperation between charitable organizations and United Nations agencies, pointing to the Bahraini experience as a model.

After that, the King Hussein Cancer Foundation launched an online application service for widows and orphans, in cooperation with the Information and eGovernment Authority.
