Key responsibilities are to review bids, quotations, raise requests for information and have the ability to suggest value engineering options if required.
Must have worked with a major MEP contractor in the past and have significant tendering/estimate experience.
Coordination and close liaison with the internal and external designers, the procurement department and the civil assessment team.
– Coordination and preparation of technical and commercial bids.
Good knowledge of the estimating process, tenders, interpretation of drawings and specifications, floating inquiries, bid evaluation, and pre- and post-tender activities.
Ability to analyze commercial and technical quotations, prepare detailed cost comparison and conduct meetings and negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
Ability to lead a team under pressure with firm deadlines, resistance to pressure, and excellent presentation and communication skills.
BS Mechanical or Electrical and has worked in turnkey MEP contract organizations with annual sales of at least $10 million.
The candidate must also have on-site experience as a PM or PD.
salary:
40,000 to 45,000 QR per month, including fixed allowances.
At least 10-15 years of experience in a similar position, of which at least 5 years are in Qatar.
– Bachelor’s. in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
Good knowledge of local requirements and standards.
Good knowledge of MS office and AutoCAD preferably in any estimating software: Primavera skills are an advantage
Fluent in English (speaking and writing), Arabic is an advantage.
