LMRA clamps down in illegal labour practices

Manama, Jan. 26 (BNA): The Labor Market Regulatory Authority and the Ministry of Interior are intensifying inspection campaigns against illegal practices to protect the competitive, fair and stable labor market.

The campaigns resulted in reports of violations of labor market and residency laws. The reported cases were referred for legal action.

The Labor Market Regulatory Authority carried out three joint inspection campaigns, the first was in the Northern Governorate in coordination with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs and the Police Directorate in the governorate.

The Labor Market Regulatory Authority also carried out a joint campaign in Muharraq, in coordination with the Department of Execution of Sentences and the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Criminal Evidence at the Ministry of Interior.

The other campaign was implemented in the Capital Governorate by the Implementation Sector of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority.

The Labor Market Regulatory Authority has renewed its call to all members of society to support the efforts of government agencies in addressing illegal labor practices by reporting violations through the electronic form on the authority’s website www.lmra.bh or by calling the authority’s call center at 17506055.
