LMRA attends IOM remote session

Manama, November 29 (BNA) The Chief Executive Officer of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority Jamal Abdulaziz Al-Alawi led the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain to attend the 112th session of the International Organization for Migration.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Director-General of the International Organization for Migration attended the virtual session. The delegation of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority participated in the meetings to enhance Bahrain’s role in combating human trafficking, and to contribute to efforts to coordinate the international partnership to address issues related to migrant workers.

The meetings, taking place from November 29 to December 1 in Geneva, Switzerland, coincide with the 70th anniversary of the founding of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The session will discuss key issues, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on borders, mobility, and future plans to combat human trafficking and protect victims.
