Moscow, July 10 (BNA): Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani participated today in the sixth strategic dialogue between the GCC countries and Russia, which was held in Moscow. The session was co-chaired by the Omani Foreign Minister, current Chairman of the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Badr bin Hamad bin Hammoud Al-Busaidi, and his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, and was attended by the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Muhammad Al-Budaiwi.

The two sides discussed joint relations within the framework of the existing strategic dialogue, and ways to expand cooperation in various fields to serve common interests. A joint statement was issued stressing the importance of strategic dialogue between the countries of the Cooperation Council and the Russian Federation in order to achieve their common interests and enhance friendship, mutual trust and cooperation.

The ministers condemned the scourge of terrorism, stressing the importance of confronting the spread of terrorist ideology and extremism. They pointed out that tolerance and peaceful coexistence are among the most important values ​​and principles for relations between nations and societies.
