Bahrain reiterates solidarity with the Palestinian people

Manama, November 29 (BNA) Foreign Minister Ahmed Muhammad al-Tarifi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated today in an event marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

The ceremony was organized by the United Nations Office in Bahrain, in cooperation with the Palestinian Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting was attended by the Acting United Nations Resident Coordinator Muhammad Al-Zarqani, Palestine’s Ambassador to Bahrain Taha Muhammad Abdul Qader, heads of diplomatic missions and the Parliamentary Permanent Select Committee to Support the Palestinian People.

Al-Tarifi delivered a speech in which he said that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, affirmed its full solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people.

He affirmed the Kingdom’s support for its national struggle to obtain all its inalienable rights, foremost of which is its right to self-determination, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions. And in line with the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative with all its elements.

He stressed the importance of supporting peace as a strategic option, explaining that a just and lasting peace in the Middle East can only be achieved by ending the Israeli occupation of all Arab lands occupied in 1967, and the return of Palestinian refugees to their lands. The compensation stipulated in United Nations General Assembly Resolution No. 194 of 1948, which stressed the need to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict in accordance with international law and relevant international legitimacy resolutions, including Security Council resolutions 242 of 1967 and 338 of 1973. 1397 of 2002 and 1515 2003 on the two-state solution.

He stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain will continue to support the rights of the Palestinian people until security, stability and peace are achieved in the Middle East, noting that the Kingdom of Bahrain is using its membership in the United Nations to support the Palestinian cause. in various organs of the international organization.
