Leão helps Milan beat Inter 3-2 in front of new owners

Rome, September 3 (BUS): In front of the club’s new owners, Rafael Liao inspired AC Milan with a 3-2 victory over fierce rivals Inter Milan in the Italian Serie A derby on Saturday.

Liao participated in all three of Milan’s goals, scoring two goals and making the other one for Olivier Giroud, according to the Associated Press.

Marcelo Brozovic gave Inter the lead in the 21st minute and Eden Deco reduced the difference for the Nerazzurri in the 67th minute.

Milan moved to the top of the Italian league, the defending champion is one of six teams undefeated, as is the case with Juventus despite suffering a 1-1 draw with Fiorentina earlier. Two others, Lazio and Naples, met in Rome later.

This confrontation between Italy’s top clubs saw Inter break the deadlock against the course of play when Lautaro Martinez heeled the ball to Joaquin Correa, who immediately sent the ball to release Brozovic, who made his way into the lower left corner.

Bose could hear his voice from Milan fans every time former player Hakan Celhanoglu touched the ball, and they were delighted that a sporadic pass from him led to the equalizer seven minutes later. Sandro Tonali intercepted the ball and rushed forward before putting it to the other side and Leao shot off.

It was all with Milan as Inter struggled to get out of their own half. Tonali delightfully played a double with Giroud before sending an anomaly straight shot to Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic, shortly before Theo Hernandez’s narrow shot over goal.

The Rossoneri took the lead in the 54th minute when he picked Liao Jirou and his exhausting efforts overcame the hapless Handanovic.

Liao doubled his tally after six minutes with a superb goal as he shone his way past three Inter defenders before firing into the lower right corner from a tight angle.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi made the changes and two of his replacements had an immediate impact; Deco fired Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s cross into the left post.
