Real Madrid ends Betis’ perfect start with 2-1 win in Liga

Madrid, September 3 (BNA): Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo scored a goal that helped Real Madrid finish the perfect start for Real Betis in the Spanish League with a 2-1 victory over the defending champions on Saturday.

Young Brazilian strikers played a vital role in Real Madrid’s 14th European Cup victory last season, once again proving the difference against Spain’s two biggest teams within the first month.

Real Madrid consolidated its lead in the league by winning all four of its matches. Betis, who was perfect in his first three games, left three points behind in second place. Barcelona were five points behind in third before visiting Seville later, according to the Associated Press.

Carlo Ancelotti moved to third place in the list of Madrid coaches with the most victories in their career. With 133 wins, only Miguel Muñoz (357) and Zinedine Zidane (172) are behind.

Before kick-off, Real Madrid’s players presented their recently won Champions League and European Super Cup to their fans in their first home game of the season. The club played the first three rounds on the road as it continues renovation work at the Santiago Bernabeu.
