Labour Minister patronizes Kerala Catholic Association’s golden jubilee celebration

Manama, May 29 (BNA) Under the patronage of the Minister of Labor and Social Development Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan, the Catholic Society in Kerala held its golden jubilee celebration in the presence of the Indian ambassador to Bahrain. Piyush SrivastavaPresident of the Society, Bishop Dr. Abraham Mar Julius Roy Anthony and several invitees.

The Minister of Labor and Social Development praised the historical relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and India, praising the society’s role in promoting religious tolerance. He stressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to build bridges of communication with all religions and ethnic groups, in a manner that reflects the Kingdom’s cultural heritage derived from Islamic teachings and the authentic Arab heritage.

For his part, Bishop Dr. Abraham Mar Julius conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the Indian community in the Kingdom of Bahrain for the care they provided. He commended the wise approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in strengthening relations of friendship and cooperation with the rest of the world and promoting tolerance, moderation and dialogue between religions and cultures. He praised the role of the Catholic Association of Kerala in promoting religious tolerance, coexistence and cultural diversity.

For his part, the Indian ambassador praised the Minister of Labor and Social Development’s sponsorship of the celebration, which reflects the tolerance that characterizes the Kingdom of Bahrain. He also affirmed the common interest in strengthening cultural relations between the two countries, praising the facilities provided by the Kingdom to non-governmental organizations from the expatriate communities.
