Labour Minister opens Career Expo 2023

Manama, May 31 (BNA): Labor Minister Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan inaugurated today the Employment Fair 2023, which was held by Bahrain Polytechnic at its headquarters in Isa Town. The event was attended by Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Institute, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor, Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, Dr. Kiran Kathin, and the invitees.

The exhibition aims to enhance the vocational guidance of the institute’s students by introducing them to the available jobs in the labor market and highlighting the market’s needs in various disciplines, especially in the technological and knowledge sector.

The Minister of Labor affirmed the government’s awareness of the main contribution of government and private higher education and training institutions as a social partner in the synchronization of educational and training outputs with the needs of the labor market. He indicated that these initiatives will be supported by launching a national platform for employment skills to serve students, employers and all those concerned with the future of the labor market.

The Minister of Labor praised the cooperation between the Ministry of Labor, Bahrain Polytechnic and the Labor Fund (Tamkeen), which resulted in the signing of several memorandums of understanding to train and prepare new graduates with specializations that are difficult to integrate into the labor market. In this context, he praised Bahrain Polytechnic’s strategy to upgrade the education and training system, especially in the information and communication technology and artificial intelligence sectors.
