Tsitsipas in cruise control at French Open, Djokovic row simmers

Paris, May 31 (BNA) Stefanos Tsitsipas enjoyed an incident-free path to the third round of the French Open by defeating Roberto Karballes Baena on Wednesday, but all eyes will be on Novak Djokovic later on.

Chasing his first Grand Slam title, Tsitsipas got off to a slow start to his campaign against Jiri Vesely, but the fifth seed looked his best against Karballes Baena, coming through a mid-match test to beat the Spaniard 6-3 7-6 (4) 6-2.

Anna Blinkova later dashed France’s hopes with a stunning 4-6 6-3 7-5 victory over fifth seed Caroline Garcia, finally capping the thrilling contest on her ninth match point, reports the Associated Press.
