Labor Minister receives UN Resident Coordinator

Manama, September 12 (BNA) The Minister of Labor and Social Development and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan met with the Resident Coordinator of United Nations Activities in Bahrain Khalid Al-Maqwad.

During the meeting, ways of cooperation between the Ministry and the United Nations Office in Bahrain were reviewed.

The two parties discussed the technical support provided by the Corporation to the Kingdom in the fields of work and human resource development, and stressed the importance of implementing strategic policies in line with relevant national legislation and laws.

Humaidan reviewed the most prominent projects and initiatives undertaken by the Kingdom in the field of employment and human resource development, and the achievements made in light of the economic recovery plan and the national labor market plan.

He praised the organization’s efforts in promoting development activities with regard to labor issues, developing the work environment, and providing various types of labor technical support.

Al Maqwad stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation in the field of work and praised Bahrain’s global efforts in developing labor structures.
