Summary of responsibilities:

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the primary responsibilities and functions include but are not limited to the following:

-Assist the assistant group manager for logistics in establishing a system to effectively control the logistics of the project.
– Develop and implement established procedures
To understand the logistical mission and develop a strategic and tactical logistical plan in response to meet needs ensuring smooth distribution and delivery of all items.
Plan and implement procedures and manage the entire project components.
The project has a fast paced and demanding role that requires an individual with new ideas ready to be implemented
Work with the Assistant Logistics Group Manager to develop innovative goals and objectives.
To support the Assistant Group Logistics Manager in the day-to-day running of the Logistics department with a team of 20 plus employees
Ensure professional cooperation with other departments and external parties
You will report directly to the Assistant Group Logistics Manager
Manage system/process improvements and logistics process initiatives related to local distribution, drying, logistics and warehouse management (there will be a team responsible for warehouse management, the role is to coordinate with them) which includes creating models, analyzing, and recommending changes to existing logistics solutions to increase Efficiency in service and cost
Understand the requirements at hand and come up with ideas to create a strategic plan to ensure smooth distribution and delivery of all items
Oversee, train and coach the team on these project logistics processes and procedures
Training of storekeepers and receiving agent teams, formally documenting and evaluating each team member up to the level of understanding and competence required by the project
Coordination with the warehousing and forwarding company regarding air/sea transportation
Hold regular meetings with internal and external stakeholders to review sites and logistical performance and develop action plans to ensure innovation goals are achieved
Monitor the operational status of deliveries and agreed distribution order
Liaising and negotiating with all stakeholders, from suppliers, manufacturers, colleagues and the customer
– Track quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transportation costs and efficiencies with the help of the team
Direct coordination with the asset management and inventory control team
– Comply with laws, regulations and requirements of GDPR and ISO

qualifications:

– 5 years of proven practical experience working in the field of logistics
– Knowledge of relevant industry in the Middle East, the best
– Excellent problem solving skills
Agile and adaptable at a time when changes or challenges arise in the project
Experience in finding the optimal route with different modes of transport, multimodal transport and preparing for transport
– Successful distribution record and logistics management
– Excellent analytical, problem solving and organization skills
– Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
– Excellent presentation, communication and organizational skills
Fluent in English (spoken and written), any additional language is an added advantage
Minimum 3 years experience in a similar position in a large scale project
Proven track record in creating, implementing and delivering strategic logistics services
Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Develop and nurture critical supplier relationships
Good relationships with stakeholders – internally and externally
– High standards of customer service
