Manama, November 2, /BNA/: First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Khalifa directed the Organizing Committee of the Week of Power to prepare for the 2023 edition that will be held in February under the slogan “Be a monster.”
His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa said that the interest in holding sporting events reflects the royal support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to continue developing sports results in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He added that working to diversify the base of sports aims to enhance the role of sports as an effective and multifaceted development tool.
He said, “We are keen on integrating the role of sports with other development sectors in the Kingdom, and making it play a fruitful role in enhancing the economic aspects, especially with its characteristics that support tourism.” He expressed his happiness to hold Power Week again, stressing his confidence in the successful organization of the event. He praised the participation of athletes from the Gulf countries, stressing that the Gulf Strongest Man Championship is a Bahraini contribution to Gulf sports to support talent and prepare them for continental and international championships.
