Justice Minister: Bahrain will remain beacon of religious freedom

Manama, August 11 (BNA) Minister of Justice and Islamic Affairs Nawaf bin Muhammad Al-Maawdah praised His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s patronage of this year’s Ashura commemoration.

He also praised the efforts of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to ensure that Ashura is commemorated smoothly, embodying the royal vision to ensure that the rituals are performed freely. And easily.

During his meeting with the Jaafari Endowment Council and heads of community and Husseini centers from various governorates, the minister expressed his thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of Ashura.

He stressed that the Kingdom was and will remain a beacon of religious freedom, as it guarantees everyone the practice of religious rites, citing the efforts of the relevant ministries in setting all requirements for success for the Ashura commemoration this year.

He pointed out that the meeting is a token of thanks to the members of the Board of Directors of the Jaafari Endowments, scholars, heads of community centers, procession coordinators and volunteers for their efforts to make the Ashura commemoration a success.

The Chairman of the Jaffari Endowments Council, Yousef bin Saleh Al-Saleh, expressed his deep thanks, appreciation and gratitude to His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for their constant patronage and respect for all religious occasions, especially Ashura.

He praised King Hamad’s annual gift on the occasion of the Islamic New Year, out of the royal keenness to share the Ashura memory with his loyal people, following in the footsteps of his grandfathers and grandfathers.
