Joint Statement on visit of HM Sultan of Oman to Bahrain

Manama, October 25 (BNA) The Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman today issued the following joint statement following the visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq to the Kingdom of Bahrain:

At the invitation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, King of Oman, visited the Kingdom of Bahrain on October 24-25, 2022.

In a brotherly atmosphere that reflects the depth of the distinguished and long-term relations between the two countries and peoples, official talks were held between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, King of Oman, in the presence of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The two sides discussed the strong brotherly relations linking the two countries, areas of bilateral cooperation and ways to develop and expand them in order to achieve their common goals and interests, and meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.

The two sides stressed the importance of continuing to develop joint cooperation in all fields, especially in the economic, trade and investment fields, while continuing to diversify cooperation in various fields, and to continue expanding and developing cooperation between the private sector in the two countries. In line with the visions of the wise leadership of both countries to maximize the volume of investments and expand bilateral trade between the two brotherly countries, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed an agreement to establish the Bahrain-Oman Investment Company as a basis for investment and to build on it in various fields to achieve greater partnerships and productive business between private sector institutions .

The two sides discussed the course of the joint Gulf action and the efforts made by the GCC states to consolidate the joint Gulf cooperation and integration, and stressed the need to work for the cohesion of the council and to confirm the unity of its states and peoples. To face all current challenges, they stressed the importance of continuing efforts to achieve the aspirations of member states and their peoples towards greater solidarity, integration and joint action to achieve Gulf economic unity.

The two sides expressed their keenness to enhance efforts to consolidate the values ​​of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among the countries of the world, and to enhance dialogue, understanding and cooperation to resolve differences by peaceful means in order to achieve security, peace and prosperity. They stressed the need to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue that meets the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, through the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, on the basis of the relevant two-state solution.
