Information Ministry Undersecretary participates in Permanent Committee for Arab Media meeting

Cairo, September 20 (BNA) Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Dr. Abdulrahman Mohamed Bahr, participated in the 97th session of the Standing Committee for Arab Media, which was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.

The meeting was held in conjunction and in preparation for the 52nd session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, which was held from 20 to 22 September.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, in a statement on the occasion of the occasion, stressed the importance of the issues discussed by the committee, which will draw the framework of Arab cooperation in the media field and enhance joint coordination with regard to issues of common interest. He pointed out that the meetings of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media represent an important opportunity to assess the reality of Arab media and explore future prospects, especially in light of the current challenges. He pointed out the need for the Arab media to play a greater role in supporting sustainable development efforts in Arab countries and raising social awareness in this regard. He also indicated the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to support efforts aimed at upgrading the Arab media system.

The meeting highlighted a number of issues, including activating the objectives of the Arab media strategy 2022-2026, the role of the media in combating terrorism and extremism, the Arab media map for sustainable development 2030, and the Arab Media Excellence Award, which is awarded to all. A year on the occasion of Arab Media Day.

A proposal to include media education in school curricula at all levels in member states was also discussed. The proposal was submitted by the Kingdom of Bahrain in a previous session of the Committee.
