Burundi Senate Speaker hails role of Bahraini parliamentary diplomacy

Bujumbura, September 20 (BNA): Burundian Senate President Emmanuel Senzhagera received here today First Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Jamal Muhammad Fakhro and Second Deputy Jamila Ali Salman on the sidelines of their participation in the ninth consultative meeting. For the Assembly of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World (ASSECAA), hosted by Burundi on September 19-20.

Parliament Speaker Emmanuel Senzohagira praised the keenness of the leaderships of the two friendly countries to enhance bilateral relations, noting that efforts to enhance cooperation and joint coordination will continue in various fields.

He praised the role played by Bahraini parliamentary diplomacy in parliamentary gatherings and conferences, praising the Shura Council’s support for the ongoing efforts to deepen relations between Arab and African legislative councils, in addition to its continuous support for ASECAA.

The deputies of the Speaker of the Shura Council affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to strengthen its relations with various countries, pointing to the four decades of friendship between Bahrain and Burundi.

They expressed their thanks and gratitude to the Burundian Senate for hosting the Ninth Asia Consultative Meeting, stressing Burundi’s support for strengthening Arab and African parliamentary relations.
