Information Ministry to organize Prime Minister’s Press Award tomorrow Sunday

Manama, May 13 (BNA): Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Ministry of Information will organize tomorrow, Sunday, the activities of the seventh sessiony Edition of the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism. A number of ministers, senior officials, journalists and media professionals in the Kingdom of Bahrain will participate in the event.

The Minister of Information, Dr. Ramadan bin Abdullah Al-Nuaimi, stressed the importance of the event for the media and press community in the Kingdom, because it reflects the advanced level that the Bahraini press has reached thanks to the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for freedom of expression. the press. He praised the sponsorship of His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the event, describing it as an incentive for journalists to compete for the award. He also praised the great care and support that His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister enjoys for the national press, as it believes in its essential role as an active partner in supporting the government’s development efforts.

The Minister of Information affirmed that the Bahraini press will always remain an influential element in the national development process, maintain social cohesion and defend national interests. He noted a significant participation in 7y edition of the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism, adding that a total of 319 entries were submitted in four categories for the award – 138 opinion columns, 41 journalistic investigations, 107 newspaper interviews and 33 newspaper photographs.

The Minister of Information indicated that the arbitration committee evaluated all the participating works accurately and honestly, according to the criteria of the award. He added that the winners were chosen transparently and objectively, and congratulated the press community in Bahrain on this occasion. He also called on the winners to continue their path of creativity and excellence for the benefit and prosperity of the country.
