Industry Ministry, BCCI hold Economic Committee meeting

Manama, October 11 (BNA) The Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry held the 38th meeting of the Economic Committee.

The meeting discussed topics on its agenda and the two sides presented the latest developments related to their bodies.

The Minister of Industry and Trade Zayed Rashid Al-Zayani expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa for issuing orders regarding the cancellation of flexible permits, the registration of all expatriate workers in partnership with the private sector, and the intensification of inspection. Strict campaigns and procedures with violators and linking work permits to professional and occupational standards.

He thanked His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister for providing the appropriate environment for workers, taking into account their rights, which in turn increases the effectiveness of their role in economic development and abolishes fees for recovering infrastructure costs associated with the issuance and development of building permits. Financing solutions to provide infrastructure in new areas.

The minister affirmed His Highness’ keenness to promote the national economy and create a distinct development environment that would stimulate more investments with the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Samir Nass, stressed the importance of consultative meetings in achieving common goals.
