Manama, June 13 (BNA) His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister today chaired the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers at Al-Qudaibiya Palace.


His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted the importance of building on the progress and development witnessed by the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.


After the end of the fifth legislative term of the Shura Council and Representatives, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad took the opportunity to recall the contributions of the late Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to the development of the Kingdom.


His Highness, the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister recalled the unprecedented challenges of the global COVID-19 pandemic, and referred to the Kingdom’s unity, under the leadership of His Majesty, to overcome adversity.


His Highness pointed out the importance of continuing to implement the economic recovery plan to enhance the quality of services, especially health, education and housing.


His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad added that the Cabinet will soon welcome the new members who will present new ideas and a renewed impetus to continue advancing the public sector for the good and development of the country and its citizens.


His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister also expressed his sincere gratitude for the contribution of senior professionals in the public sector, whose national experiences and contributions have benefited the Kingdom and its citizens in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Then His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, delivered a speech in which he thanked His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on behalf of the Council of Ministers for working alongside senior government officials to serve the Kingdom. its citizens.


His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak shed light on the achievements made by the government, led by His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which have won local and international appreciation.


His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak recalled the efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa in advancing the development wheel in the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.


The Cabinet highlighted the meeting held between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen Major General Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al Alimi, noting its role in strengthening relations between Bahrain and Yemen. The Cabinet reiterated Bahrain’s support for the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council in carrying out its duties, restoring legitimate authority and achieving peace, security, stability and development in Yemen.


The Cabinet praised the efforts of the Bahrain team in advancing the development goals of the Kingdom, which was reflected in the rise of the Bahrain index in many international economic reports, and stressed the importance of continuing to achieve the Kingdom’s broad development goals.

Agree to the following notes:


1. A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism and the World Intellectual Property Organization regarding the development of business administration and services in intellectual property offices. The agreement aims to promote the development of intellectual property in the Kingdom of Bahrain.


2. The memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and the Financial Balance regarding the expansion of the sewage treatment plant in North Sitra and the financing options for the project. The project aims to increase the station’s capacity to accommodate the new residential units in East Sitra.


3. A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects regarding a request for approval to implement 11 approved development projects in the various governorates of the Kingdom, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Expropriation of Lands for the Public Benefit. The purpose of the memorandum is to provide the necessary spaces for urban development.


4. A memorandum by the Minister of Finance and National Economy regarding a draft agreement to encourage and protect investment between the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Government of Japan. The agreement aims to provide an environment that promotes investment between the two countries.


5. A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the government’s response to six proposals and proposals for a law submitted by the House of Representatives.

The Cabinet reviewed the following topics:


1 – The memorandum of the Minister of Shura and Parliament Affairs regarding the work of the first session of the fifth legislative term reflected the positive results of cooperation between the executive and legislative authorities in the field of legislation and oversight in various fields. development paths.


2- An internal review concluded that 92% of Cabinet decisions were implemented during 2021 and the first half of 2022. In this regard, the Cabinet thanked ministries and government agencies for their efforts in supporting strategies and decisions that enhance efficiency. and quality of government services.


The Cabinet reviewed the ministerial reports related to participation in the 116th session of the GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee, the 110th session of the International Labor Conference, and the second high-level international conference of the International Decade for Action entitled “Water for Sustainability”.
