HM King opens first session of 6th Legislative Term

Manama, Dec. 12 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa patronized here today, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the first session of the sixth legislative session. Praise be to God, and prayers and peace be upon our Master Muhammad and his family and companions,

Honorable brothers and sisters, members of Parliament,

Peace, mercy and blessings of God ,

With God’s blessing, we open this first session of the National Assembly in its sixth legislative term, and we move forward with sincere patriotic determination to achieve greater achievements and contribution, so that your esteemed assembly, in regular constitutional continuity, fulfills its national duties and responsibility. Decision making to serve beloved Bahrain.

We thank God for the return of life to normal, which enabled us to meet you all in goodness and affection.

We are pleased to congratulate our brothers and sisters who succeeded in the recent legislative and municipal elections, and we commend the professional, civilized and high-level performance that characterized the electoral process, and we especially thank all those who answered the call of duty and exercised their right to vote in the best way.

Bahrain’s free elections have proven that the participation of male and female citizens in decision-making is an experience characterized by stability and heritage.

Our country witnessed the first edition of the municipal elections nearly a century ago, and since then it has worked to enrich its path and strengthen its constitutional institutions, in a way that advances its democratic experience full of virtue and development.

The rich march of the National Assembly begins to a new phase with priorities of utmost importance, for which we direct the continuous development of dialogue mechanisms and constructive cooperation relations with the executive authority to coordinate efforts and positions, in order to meet the aspirations of our honorable citizens in a way that raises the ceiling of national contributions for the common good.

The goal of protecting the common interest and deepening national unity will remain our main concern, and we assure everyone that we will not allow, in any way or form, to prejudice our system of values ​​and traditions.

For our part, we will adopt only what will be won by the consensus of all, so that our country, with the help of God and the determination of its sons and daughters, will stand as a solid structure in the face of any intellectual invasion that contradicts the values ​​of our tolerant Islamic law and sound human nature.

On this solid foundation, from which we derive the sanctity of our national identity, we have set out together to modernize and develop the national performance with its apparatus, systems and services, which are implemented efficiently and efficiently by the esteemed government under our supervision. In this context, we should only express our satisfaction with the efforts made to develop services provided to citizens, increase the efficiency of administrative processes, develop national expertise, and diversify job opportunities.

We are proud of the performance of Bahraini women and their influential and outstanding contributions to the national renaissance, as well as the honorable achievements of the youth sector and their level of advancement in public life. One of the most prominent examples of this is the recent government appointments, in addition to their distinction in many areas for which we congratulate them, and direct more qualitative initiatives that raise the capacity of national contributions.
