The tournament, organized by the Bahrain Fencing Federation under the supervision of the International Federation, was held on January 21 and 22 in Khalifa Sports City.
The event was attended by His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Public Authority for Sports, Dr. Abdul Rahman Askar, CEO of the Public Authority for Sports, and Sheikh Ibrahim bin Salman Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Fencing Federation.
His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the final match of the tournament, during which the Arab Republic of Egypt defeated the Republic of Kazakhstan.
He said, “Hosting the World Youth Fencing Championship reflects the confidence of the International Fencing Federation in Bahrain’s position and its pioneering role in holding various sporting events.”
He highlighted the directives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for humanitarian work and youth affairs and head of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, to host sporting events that enhance Bahrain’s position.
He congratulated the top three winners with three places, praising the success of the Bahrain Fencing Federation in hosting the world championship. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the AFC and the International Federation for granting Bahrain the organization of the tournament.
