HH Deputy Premier receives Head of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council

Manama, June 9 (BNA) His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, received today at Al-Qudaibiya Palace the Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi and his accompanying delegation.


The meeting was attended by the Minister of Interior, Lieutenant-General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani.


His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak welcomed Dr. Al-Alimi and the accompanying delegation, expressing his appreciation to the Presidential Leadership Council and its efforts to consolidate security and peace in brotherly Yemen.


The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s support for these efforts, expressing his hope that the truce in Yemen would be extended for two additional months, as a result of the initiative of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the efforts of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen. It would end the Yemeni crisis and lead to a permanent and comprehensive political solution that would achieve security, stability and peace in Yemen, and meet the aspirations of its brotherly people for development and prosperity.


His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak welcomed the results of today’s meetings between the ministers of Bahrain and Yemen, noting that they will contribute to the consolidation of bilateral relations and the strengthening of joint cooperation.


The Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, expressed his thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his support for Yemen and its people, praising Bahrain’s supportive stances for Yemen and its efforts aimed at achieving security. and stability in Yemen and the region.

The two sides also discussed regional and international issues of common interest.
