HH Deputy Premier chairs Supreme Council for Development of Education and Training

Manama, March 30 (BNA) His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Council for the Development of Education and Training, chaired the council’s online meeting.


His Highness affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the follow-up of His Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to promote investment in the areas of human capital.


He pointed out that education and training are among the most important elements used in evaluating government programs and initiatives to develop these areas in order to achieve government goals and meet the aspirations of citizens.


The Board reviewed the implementation of the institutional structure of the Ministry of Education by 88%.


The Council appreciated the efforts made by all teams in implementing the institutional structure of the Ministry of Education.


The Council stressed the need to invest in expertise and practices throughout the project implementation period and the importance of aligning the outputs with the education and training strategy that the Council will supervise during the next phase.


The council reviewed a presentation on the proposal to include environmental and economic education curricula as basic elements in the national curriculum, by introducing and promoting topics and developing practices in order to develop environmental and economic awareness among school students and training them on the necessary skills. The proposal also aims to develop students’ ability to use the tools and methods of economic thinking by providing them with a set of modern skills related to finance and business, keeping pace with global best practices to achieve sustainable development goals.
