CSB issues instructions on working hours in Ramadan

Manama, March 30 (BNA): In implementation of the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Civil Service Bureau issued its instructions regarding working hours during the holy month of Ramadan.


The head of the Civil Service Bureau, Ahmed bin Zayed Al Zayed, said that the official working hours during the holy month of Ramadan will be from 8:00 in the morning to 2:00 in the afternoon for employees who work according to normal working hours, reducing weekly working hours to 30 hours per week. .


He added that for employees who work long hours, the official working hours during the holy month of Ramadan will be from 8:00 am to 2:45 pm from Sunday to Wednesday, and from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm on Thursday.


The President of the Civil Service Bureau indicated that employees who work on the flexible system, the maximum number of flexible hours for employees who work according to this system will not exceed one hour per day in all regular, long and special working hours. Therefore, employees will complete flexi hours after completing their base hours.


He stressed that employees whose jobs require reduced working hours are compensated for the additional working hours according to the overtime policy adopted by the Civil Service Commission.


Compensation is in the form of payment for overtime hours, or by providing rest hours equivalent to overtime hours based on the decision of the employee’s government agency and the availability of funds to pay these wages.
