Health Ministry stresses commitment to protecting community

Manama, September 16 (BNA) Health Minister Dr. Jalila bint Sayed Jawad Hassan chaired today a meeting devoted to following up on the emergency plan to deal with monkeypox.

She stressed the commitment of the Ministry of Health to do its utmost to preserve the health and safety of society, follow up on health developments, and take the necessary precautionary measures in accordance with the health protocols in force locally and internationally.

Commenting on the discovery of the first case in Bahrain, the minister stressed that epidemiological surveillance is continuing to reduce the chances of the spread of monkeypox in order to preserve public safety.

The meeting reviewed the ongoing preparations and procedures related to examination, isolation, treatment and tracing of contacts, in addition to the plans and procedures that have been implemented with the aim of educating health professionals and health workers.
As well as the mechanism for reporting suspected cases in the Directorate of Public Health and vaccination efforts.
