Cairo, October 10 (BNA) Health Minister Dr. Galila bint El-Sayed Jawad Hassan participated in the 69th session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean, held in Cairo, Egypt, under the slogan “Together for Health and Peace”. Tomorrow is more sustainable.
In his speech before the session, the Minister stressed the support of regional efforts to raise the main health issues of importance to the region and to discuss ways to improve emergency response in the Eastern Mediterranean region of the World Health Organization, develop hospital information systems, and review the joint action plan for regional health. Dr. Hassan highlighted the role of joint regional endeavors in achieving the sustainable development goals after the outbreak of the new global Corona virus, accelerating the pace of universal health coverage and ensuring health for all and by all.
The Bahrain delegation participated in technical meetings that discussed key issues, including the local production of vaccines, the regional strategy to eliminate cervical cancer, and the regional approach of the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030.
