Gulf Air concludes Dubai Airshow participation with great achievements

Manama, November 20 (BNA) Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, concluded its participation in the Dubai Airshow 2021 with great achievements, as it signed a number of agreements during the event, and used them as a platform to promote it. Fleet, products and services.

During the air show, Gulf Air displayed its flagship Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and its state-of-the-art cabins on its 70th anniversary. An executive delegation from Gulf Air represented the airline and led a number of networking initiatives and networking opportunities with partners and suppliers.

The signatures included:

• Memorandum of Understanding with Emirates Airlines to discuss the development of a codeshare partnership

• An enhanced memorandum of understanding with Ras Al Khaimah International Airport to introduce direct flights between the emirate and Bahrain

• Letter of intent with EgyptAir to explore areas of cooperation

• Agreement with Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance to support the CFM56-5B engine

• Agreement with Safran for maintenance, review and overhaul (MRO) operations on landing gear for six Airbus A321s and one A320.

On this occasion, Captain Waleed Al Alawi, Acting CEO of Gulf Air, said: “I would like to thank the authorities in Dubai and congratulate them for the warm welcome extended to us by the United Arab Emirates during this successfully organized air show where our participation was fruitful as we have met and made deals with a number of Partners in the aviation industry. As the first major air show after the pandemic, this was a very important event for the major players in the industry to attend and complete major business transactions.” He added: “Our goals are to continue to represent the Kingdom of Bahrain on a global platform and expand our reach through partnerships with regional and international carriers. Next year we will welcome the world at our Bahrain International Airshow and host industry friends in our beloved kingdom.”

The Dubai Airshow was the only live and in-person space event held in 2021, with more than 1,200 exhibitors and representatives from 148 countries, more than 80 startups and over 20 country pavilions. The event also featured a static display park and flight display activities that featured the world’s most advanced aircraft on land and in the air. Including Gulf Air’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, more than 160 aircraft of senior international aviation leaders were on display.
