GCC delegation visits DANAT


Manama, November 6 (BNA) A delegation from the Gulf Cooperation Council visited the Bahrain Institute of Pearls and Gemstones (Danat), where they were briefed on the methods used to evaluate and evaluate pearls, jewellery, precious stones and precious metals. .

The institute has refined advanced technologies and adopted international best practices as the first educational laboratory and research center of its kind in the region.

The visiting delegation toured the Danat campus, where experts explained the institute’s ongoing programs to enhance the Kingdom’s reputation as a leading center of expertise in the field of pearls and precious stones.

Representatives of the institute also emphasized the ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening the Bahraini pearl sector, in line with the national plan to revive the pearling industry in Bahrain.

The delegation was briefed on the institute’s latest examination and evaluation equipment and the certification methodology used in classifying jewelry and precious stones.

The certifications will ensure that clients can be sure of the source and quality of the pearls and stones, and of the educational courses on offer for those who wish to become specialists in jewelry and gemstones.

The institute aims to become a driver of the national economy of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The delegation members noted their admiration for Bahrain’s development as a pioneering and internationally respected institution and its long and distinguished history in the field of extracting natural pearls.
