Cape Canaveral Nov. 12 (BUS): An international crew of four has arrived at the International Space Station (ISS), NASA has confirmed.
NASA said the Crew Dragon Endeavor capsule, which was carrying American astronauts Thomas Marshburn, Raja Chari, Kayla Baron and their German colleague Matthias Maurer, docked at the space station after a nearly 20-hour flight.
The four astronauts blasted off from Cape Canaveral on the Central Florida coast late Wednesday, German news agency dpa reports.
They join NASA astronaut Mark Vandy and Russian cosmonauts Oleg Novizki and Pyotr Dobrov, who have been on the International Space Station since April.
The latest launch was planned this past weekend in October but has been postponed several times – first due to the weather, then due to a minor medical issue with one of the crew members, and finally another group of astronauts needed to be brought back. From the International Space Station first.
After its space shuttle retired in 2011, NASA was relying on the Russian Soyuz spacecraft to transport its astronauts to and from the International Space Station. Elon Musk’s SpaceX began transporting crews last year with its Dragon capsule.
