Nasser bin Hamad International Endurance Championship kicks off

Manama, March 18 / BNA / Under the patronage of His Majesty Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the King’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs, and Honorary President of the Bahrain Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), Nasser bin Hamad International Endurance Championship kicked off today at the Bahrain International Endurance Village.

The championship witnessed the start of the local qualifying races with a length of 40 and 80 km, and the international qualifying race for a distance of 100 km, with a large participation of stables and jockeys.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the great participation in the qualifying races, which confirms the achievement of many goals by introducing new faces to the Bahraini endurance sport, in line with the vision of BREEF headed by His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa stressed the federation’s keenness to continue developing endurance sport, noting the successes achieved in the current season by organizing many races that witnessed great participation.

Regarding his vision of the main race, His Excellency indicated that the race will certainly witness high speeds and a great and open competition between stables and jockeys in an attempt to end the season by taking the first places. He pointed out that the competition will not be limited to a team only, but will be open and is expected to witness excitement and competition.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa wished all participants in the championship success in showing the best levels that reflect the development of Bahrain’s endurance sport.

Tomorrow, Saturday, the Bahrain International Endurance Village will witness the big race for the Cup of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

A 120 km race will also be held for local and international private stables.
