Foreign Minister participates in 6th CICA ministerial meeting

Nur Sultan, October 12 (BNA) Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani participated in the sixth ministerial meeting on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), which started today in the Republic. Kazakhstan, under the auspices of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, headed by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Akan Rachmotulin, and in the presence of the foreign ministers of CICA member states, and the participation of CICA Executive Director Khairat Saribay.

At the opening session of the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs delivered the following statement:

“The past 18 months have once again highlighted the vital role of regional and international cooperation, and the critical importance of working together to address common challenges – whether they are long-standing issues of immediate crises. Indeed, recent years have demonstrated beyond any doubt that in an increasingly complex world Interdependently, real and sustainable security and development can only be achieved by working with regional friends and partners.

For the Kingdom of Bahrain, this period has also underlined the firm principles and values ​​that guide our politics – values ​​that have always been part of our Bahraini culture, and that have been renewed through the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. successor. Chief among them is the importance of coexistence, dialogue and mutual respect as a basic basis for relations between countries and peoples, and a solid base for lasting peace, security and prosperity.

That is why Bahrain believes in the importance of regional forums such as CICA, because we are convinced that they are ideal places to put these principles into practice, and to demonstrate the value of true regional cooperation in bringing real and practical benefits to the countries and countries of Asia. peoples. That is why, for example, Bahrain will soon take over the presidency of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue, providing more opportunities to bring our region closer together, while recognizing the unique strengths of each of these forums.
