SCW Secretary General receives Bahraini Ambassador to Belgium

Manama, October 12 (BNA) The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women, Hala Al-Ansari, praised the pivotal role played by Bahraini diplomatic missions in highlighting the achievements of Bahraini women at the international level. She emphasized national efforts to achieve gender balance and integrate women’s needs into the development process.

Al-Ansari was speaking during her reception at the headquarters of the Supreme Council for Women in Riffa, the head of the Bahraini diplomatic mission to Belgium, Ambassador Abdullah bin Faisal Jabr Al-Dosari. She discussed with him the activities of the Supreme Council for Women to build fruitful relations with international organizations concerned with women’s issues. She emphasized the role of diplomatic missions in encouraging the relevant sectors to apply for the International Award of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa for the Empowerment of Women. The second edition of the award was launched by UN Women to honor the work of governments, the private sector, civil society organizations and individuals towards empowering women and girls around the world.

Ambassador Al-Dosari praised the efforts of the Supreme Council for Women headed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the sanctity of His Majesty the King in the advancement of Bahraini women at the local, regional and international levels. He also praised the contribution of Bahraini women to enhancing the Kingdom’s position as a model in human development and gender equality, thanks to the reform approach pursued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
