Manama, March 19 (BNA) Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani held an official session of talks with his Singaporean counterpart Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, who is on a visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Dr. Al-Zayani welcomed his counterpart, praising the distinguished friendship between Bahrain and Singapore, stressing the common desire to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields.
He affirmed Bahrain’s keenness to further develop joint cooperation between the two countries to meet common aspirations and achieve common interests, especially in the economic, investment and trade fields, and the various service sectors, and open opportunities for the private sector in both countries.
The Singaporean Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his happiness at visiting Bahrain, praising the hospitality and warm welcome he received.
He referred to the historical friendship between Bahrain and Singapore, which dates back to decades of mutual respect and joint cooperation, stressing Singapore’s interest in developing bilateral cooperation relations with Bahrain in various fields to serve the interests of the two friendly countries.
The two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing joint cooperation in the economic and development fields, activating memoranda of understanding and agreements signed between the two countries, and joint coordination in international forums to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.
The political, security and economic developments at the regional and international levels and their repercussions on international peace and security were also discussed, in addition to topics and issues of common interest.
The meeting was attended by Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Director General of MBMA, Ambassador Dr. Munira bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Head of the Human Rights Sector, and Ambassador Dr. – Asian Sector, Ambassador Fatima Al-Dhaen, Singaporean Ambassador to Bahrain, residing in Riyadh, Wong Chao-Ming, and the delegation accompanying the Singaporean Minister of Foreign Affairs.
