Finance Ministry participates in Arab League’s Economic and Social Council meeting

Cairo, Feb. 9 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and National Economy for Financial Affairs, Youssef Abdullah Hammoud, on behalf of the Minister of Finance and National Economy, headed the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the 111th periodic meeting of the Economic and Social Council of the League of Arab States. The Council, which convened today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, Egypt.

The meeting highlighted the economic and social issues on its agenda, including a report on the implementation of the decisions of the 110th session, investment in Arab countries, upgrading the Arab food security strategy, the establishment of the Arab food market, and the Arab free trade zone. Arab Customs Union.

The discussions also focused on adopting a number of recommendations and decisions related to the economic, social and development fields in the Arab region in order to achieve economic integration. The economic and social file submitted to the League of Arab States was also approved at the summit level in its thirty-second regular session, which will be hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
