Export Bahrain supports Chocolate & Co’s expansion into new markets

Manama, January 11 /BNA /: In line with years of relentless commitment and cooperation to understand its customers, Export Bahrain affirms its unwavering support for Chocolate & Co. , the factory that offers a high quality selection of exquisite chocolates and sweets for all occasions, in its aims to expand locally and regionally.

The factory has been producing more than 900 types of chocolate for more than 15 years; It was established in 2008 to be a luxury chocolate factory.

The raw materials are imported from Belgium and then manufactured in Bahrain to meet the demand within the country, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and even the Indian subcontinent, with a production capacity of 5,000 tons per year.

Since its establishment, the factory has produced about 75% of the local market’s requirements, achieving a total value of $25 million in exports, 10% of which goes to the markets of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and mainly to the Saudi market, with a remarkable percentage of 80%.

Export Bahrain always strives to improve the advantages granted to Bahrain-based companies and enhance national exports by providing a comprehensive range of services and solutions.

As such, Chocolate & Co. From expanding its business in the South Asian market through the Maldives and other markets around the world, such as India, Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, achieving one of its main goals of reaching a larger customer database on a regional scale.

Chocolate & Co. was also able to make its brand visible through Export Bahrain’s International Retail Buyer initiative, through which its products were featured on retail shelves in local and international stores.

The support provided by Export Bahrain will help increase the factory’s production capacity in the next three years by 100%, in addition to increasing exports by 50% of production within four years.

The factory was able to expand its scope at all levels, achieving an increase in productivity and demand, and thus the factory doubled its size to 2500 square meters, which contributed to increasing the number of workers to 64 employees in total, 28% of whom are from the local population.

The CEO of Export Bahrain, Safaa Sharif Abdul Khaleq, stressed the importance of the industrial sector in the Kingdom and its effective role in developing the economy, making a positive impact by enhancing local production, and helping create more job opportunities for Bahraini talents.

“We are committed to supporting the chocolate factory and their partners, as we witnessed its success and the increase in its production and export rates,” she said.

“Export Bahrain will continue to work tirelessly to provide an ideal environment to support and develop national exports and contribute to achieving one of the pillars of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.”

The managing director of Chocolate & Co. Hazem Janahi expressed his gratitude for the continued cooperation with Export Bahrain.

He emphasized the active role it plays in ensuring the expansion of the factory locally and regionally, which helped make the factory a major player in supplying all different markets, which is directly reflected in the increase in production and exported products.

This support is part of a larger strategy for Export Bahrain to maintain solutions designed to enhance national exports, identify new horizons, and facilitate and enhance the path to international markets.
