Bahrain World Exhibition hosts the next edition of its live ballet performances in May<br />













































Manama, April 8 (BNA): The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, in cooperation with Common Ground International, announced the upcoming ballet performances by world celebrities.


The State Academic Theater of Classical Ballet Natalia Kasatkina and Vladimir Vasiliev, coming to the Kingdom of Bahrain from 4 to 6 May 2023.


The performances will take place at the Bahrain Grand Exhibition Hall, the region’s newest exhibition and convention center, in Sakhir. The Grand Hall offers universal design flexibility with multiple configurations, to incorporate different types of events such as ballet performances, live events, and more. It features retractable seats with rows of multiple tiers, with a capacity of 400-4000 seats along with 20 interpretation booths.


Common Ground International, in partnership with the American non-profit Achievement Arts and Sciences Foundation, and with the support of BTEA, continues to implement a large-scale international cultural project, Common Ground, in the Kingdom of Bahrain.


After the first successful ballet performances “Swan Lake” and “Sleeping Beauty”, which were held at the Bahrain World Fair between March 2 and 4, and which crowded nearly 5,000 spectators, the project continues with performances of “Don Quixote”, “Mowgli” and “Cinderella”. .


The troupe is known for its innovative choreography, modern adaptations, and exciting productions. Don Quixote is one of the ballet’s most joyful and exciting performances, originally known as a “performance in times of celebration”. It’s an adaptation of Cervantes’ epic novel about the adventures of a chivalrous knight set to the sparkling music of Ludwig Minkus – this vibrant ballet transports the audience straight to sunny Spain! Common Ground International has also decided to include “Cinderella” and “Mowgli” in its ballet performances in May, following the amazing success and reception of the interactive children’s performance “Sleeping Beauty: Aurora’s Wedding” held on 4 March at the Bahrain International Fair.


“There is no better way to introduce children to this prestigious art than through familiar favorite stories, and after seeing their curiosity and excitement at our latest event, we knew we had to surprise and delight them all over again!” – says the project organizer, Dr. Anna Artsybasheva.


This is the first time that the band performs in the Kingdom of Bahrain.


Dr. Nasser Qaedi, CEO of BTEA, affirmed Bahrain’s readiness to attract more large-scale international events, stressing the commitment of the Bahrain Tourism and National Heritage Authority to continue attracting the best entertainment and artistic shows from all over the world, to work towards achieving the strategic goals of tourism in Bahrain.
