Justice Ministry, LMRA launch joint initiative to provide administrative assistance to registered workers in filing civil lawsuits

Manama, April 8 (BNA): The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments and the Labor Market Regulatory Authority announced a joint initiative to provide administrative assistance in filing civil lawsuits for workers registered in approved labor registration centers, by following the following procedures: An initiative launched by the Ministry and the Labor Market Regulatory Authority in 2020 To facilitate the filing of labor claims by expatriate workers.


According to the joint initiative, the Labor Market Regulatory Authority, represented by the Protection and Grievances Center, will provide administrative assistance to registered workers in filing and following up the progress of civil lawsuits related to the profession they are authorized to do, through the electronic system established for this purpose. The system will provide the applicant with all the necessary information to review the progress of the application, from filing the case until the issuance of the judgment, as well as providing a list of registered lawyers to seek legal advice in disputes related to their cases.


According to the initiative, the Labor Market Regulatory Authority will continue to provide administrative assistance to workers registered in approved labor registration centers, by processing civil lawsuits at the request of workers, entering any new requests such as changes in information and contact numbers, or submitting documents, and printing data, decisions, justifications, and their validity. The judgment or any other documents related to the case through the system on behalf of the worker and in accordance with the procedures of the Ministry. In the meantime, the Ministry will provide all technical support to the Labor Market Regulatory Authority to perform its aforementioned duties. The Labor Market Regulatory Authority will also provide qualified translators in the different languages ​​spoken by the workers.

Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Nawaf bin Muhammad Al-Maawda stressed the importance of this cooperation, which comes within the framework of joint government work to provide administrative assistance to registered workers to benefit from the administrative facilities available in the field of litigation. Provided by the Kingdom of Bahrain to achieve justice in all aspects, especially with regard to filing civil lawsuits for workers and protecting their rights.


Nouf Abdul Rahman Jamsheer, CEO of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority and head of the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking, said that cooperation with the Ministry of Justice comes within the framework of strengthening the unified government framework to achieve justice for all, and the Kingdom’s commitment to achieving justice for all. Strengthening the protection system and enabling all workers to secure their rights, earnings, and compensation in labor and civil cases, and to protect them from exposure to exploitation attempts, extortion, and any other form of violation.
