Embassy in Ottawa celebrates Bahrain’s National Days


Ottawa, Dec. 12 (BNA): The non-resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Canada, Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, held a reception on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s National Day, in celebration of the establishment of the modern state of Bahrain as an Arab and Islamic country. , which was founded by Ahmed Al-Fateh in 1783, and the anniversary of His Majesty’s accession to the throne.

The celebrations coincide with the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bahrain and Canada.

The ceremony was attended by Sandra McCardell, Assistant Deputy Minister for Europe, the Arctic, the Middle East and the Maghreb at the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development, and a number of senior officials in the military, diplomatic and political corps. Ambassador Sheikh Abdullah extended his warmest congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the Bahraini people on this special occasion.

The ambassador praised the Bahraini-Canadian relations, appreciating Canada’s positions in support of international peace and security, noting its commitment to maritime security.

He stressed that the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty the King and the continuous follow-up of His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has achieved many national achievements this year.
