Egyptian Defence Minister receives Iraqi counterpart

Cairo, May 9 (BNA): The Egyptian Minister of Defense and Military Production, Mohamed Zaki, received here today the Iraqi Minister of Defense, Thabet Mohamed Saeed Al-Abbas, and his accompanying delegation.

According to the Middle East News Agency (MENA), the two ministers discussed regional and international developments and their repercussions on the security and stability of the region in light of the current challenges and circumstances.

And they achieved the strengthening of cooperation in several fields, especially the military ones.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces praised the partnership relations between the Egyptian and Iraqi armed forces.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi Minister of Defense – who is on a visit to Egypt for several days – praised Egypt’s pioneering regional and international role, expressing his hope that the coming period will witness more cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.
