Education Minister opens GHEDEX 2023

Manama, May 7 (BNA): The Minister of Education and Chairman of the Higher Education Council, Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak Juma, inaugurated the Global Higher Education Exhibition (GHEDEX 2023) at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.


The exhibition was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Sairafi, the Minister of Youth Affairs, Rawan bint Najib Tawfiqi, and a number of officials. The two-day event was attended by 53 higher education institutions and organizations from 10 countries.


In a speech he delivered on this occasion, the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Higher Education Council affirmed that Bahrain’s hosting of the international exhibition, which is being held for the first time on its soil, confirms the Kingdom’s keenness to develop the education sector. He praised the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in this regard.


The exhibition is organized in cooperation with the Oman International Trade and Exhibitions Group (OITE) and the Ministry of Education.


The CEO of the OITE Group, Amr Abdullah Baaboud, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Bahrain for its cooperation in organizing the exhibition, which provides students and those interested with the opportunity to get acquainted with prestigious universities from the United States of America, the United Kingdom and Japan. Malaysia, India, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Turkey and Kingdom of Bahrain.


A corner has also been allocated for projects of Bahraini students in the fields of technology, artificial intelligence, etc. The exhibition will also include workshops and panel discussions for a group of experts and specialists.

The winners of the GHEDEX Awards for Excellence in Higher Education were honored at the event. They are Applied Science University, Arabian Gulf University, INJAZ Bahrain, Royal University for Girls, Fatel Bahrain School of Hospitality, Arab Open University, University of Technology Bahrain (UTB), Jabriya Technical Secondary School for Boys, and Al-Istiqlal. Girls’ High School.
