Deputy Prime Minister visits Ministry of Works

Manama, Feb. 28 (BNA): Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa affirmed the government’s keenness to accelerate the pace of improving the infrastructure and ensure the sustainability of the necessary financing for it. He referred to the urban and investment development in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in light of the comprehensive development march led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed the importance of infrastructure development projects in the new cities, which aim to enhance the welfare of Bahraini families and achieve stability for their members. He was speaking during today’s visit to the Ministry of Works to follow up the progress of infrastructure development projects implemented by the ministry.

Upon his arrival, the Deputy Prime Minister was received by the Minister of Works, Eng. Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works Eng. Sheikh Mishaal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and a number of officials. He praised the efforts of the ministry’s employees and their outstanding contribution to the development of infrastructure in line with the government’s programs and Bahrain’s economic vision 2030.

The Deputy Prime Minister was briefed on the ministry’s plan for this year and the coming years to implement more than 120 projects to connect thousands of properties to the road and sewage network in the interior regions across the Kingdom through a program funded by revenues. The ministry’s current projects, which include more than 200 projects in the fields of roads, sanitation, construction and maintenance, were also highlighted.
