Deputy Prime Minister chairs the weekly Cabinet Meeting

Manama, Mar. 6 (BNA): His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, presided over the weekly cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, after the success of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix for the year 2023.

The Cabinet pointed out that the race witnessed a large attendance and praised the role of the Bahrain team in organizing the event and its success.

The Cabinet welcomed His Majesty the King’s invitation to the Kingdom of Bahrain to host the meeting of the Council of Presidents of the United Nations General Assembly, which will be held under the chairmanship of Dr. Han Song Soo, Chairman of the United Nations Board of Directors. Council of Presidents of the General Assembly (UNCPGA). In this regard, the Cabinet stressed the importance of this international meeting in consolidating the objectives of the United Nations, particularly the maintenance of international peace and security.

In addition, in celebration of International Women’s Day, the Cabinet praised the Kingdom’s comprehensive programs and policies for the advancement of women, led by the Supreme Council for Women led by His Majesty the King’s wife and the President of the Supreme Council for Women, Her Royal Highness. Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa.

The Cabinet discussed several memorandums during the meeting with the following approvals:

1. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Financial Balance on the latest developments related to the electronic passport plan.

2. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft decision to reconfigure the Water Resources Council.

3. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs to reconfigure a number of councils and committees headed by the Minister of Interior.

4. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the government’s response to a legislative proposal submitted by the House of Representatives.

Then the Cabinet reviewed a memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft decision to regulate the work of private higher education institutions, and a draft decision to organize investigation procedures into violations of individuals authorized to establish higher education. institutions. The Council also reviewed a memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft decision specifying the language that will be used before the courts and the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Settlement in a language other than Arabic, and the methods and scope of application.

The Cabinet also welcomed, in light of a report submitted by the Minister of Health, the World Health Organization’s accreditation of the cities of Aley, Busaiteen, and Al-Saih, and the accreditation of five local universities as health universities. The Council of Ministers recognized these funds as an international appreciation for the government’s plans, programs and efforts in the field of health and social development.

– The Kingdom’s participation in the summit-level meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement on recovery from the Corona virus

– The Kingdom’s participation in the third meeting of the Supreme Committee for Integrated Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development
