Manama, September 20 (BNA) Deputy Ombudsman Ghada Hamed Habib received in her office today Lord Stuart Pollack, member of the British House of Lords, on the occasion of his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The meeting was attended by Director of International Cooperation and Development Sheikh Mohammed bin Ali Al Khalifa.
The Deputy Ombudsman reviewed with Lord Pollack the main activities of the Ombudsman, particularly in the framework of international cooperation and communication with institutions and individuals concerned with the work of the Secretariat. She affirmed her keenness to cooperate with diplomatic missions accredited to Bahrain in the context of enhancing transparency and benefiting from international experiences and practices in the field of work of the Ombudsman’s offices.
During the meeting, Lord Pollack was briefed on the duties and responsibilities of the Ombudsman’s General Secretariat, which aims to enhance respect for human rights by law enforcement authorities and within the criminal justice system.
