Executive, Legislative Branches discuss Government Plan (2023-2026)

Manama, Dec. 29 (BNA): The parliamentary committee charged with studying the government’s plan held its second meeting with a team representing the executive authority.


The session was chaired by Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam and Minister of Finance and National Economy Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.


The government team also included Minister of Labor Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan, Minister of Parliament Ghanim bin Fadl Al-Buainain, Minister of Legal Affairs Yusuf bin Abdul Hussein Khalaf, Minister of Health Dr. Jalila bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan Jawad, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Nawaf bin. Muhammad Al-Maawda and Minister of Cabinet Affairs Hamad bin Faisal Al-Maliki.

The session was also attended by the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Abdul Nabi Salman, and members of the parliamentary committee charged with studying the government’s plan.


The Speaker of the House of Representatives praised the cooperation of the government team in dealing with the proposals of lawmakers related to the government action plan (2023-2026), which reflects the wise vision and directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz. Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhance constructive coordination between the legislative and executive branches.


He stressed the importance of constructive consensus between the legislative and executive authorities on key issues, particularly the implementation of economic recovery plans and fiscal balance programs, consolidation of partnership with the private sector, in addition to increasing non-oil revenues to diversify them. The Minister of Finance and National Economy, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, also stressed the importance of positive cooperation between the executive and legislative authorities to serve the country and the citizen, reflecting the aspirations of His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.


He indicated that the government program (2023-2026) aims to move from the stage of economic recovery to the stage of sustainable development, with a focus on three priorities: security, stability and equity. Economic recovery, sustainable development, quality and competitive service.


The minister affirmed that the government seeks to implement a set of development plans and initiatives whose positive effects are reflected on the citizen as the focus of development and its primary goal, in accordance with the principles of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s economic vision 2030.
