Your role and responsibilities
As a cloud engineer, you understand the nuances of different cloud solutions (hybrid, public, private, multicloud, on-premises) and the implications for designing solutions. You understand the relationship between different technologies and architectures and how they contribute to an overall solution. It develops a deep interpretation of complex, multi-area, large-scale solutions that use many independent lifecycle microservices. To be successful in this role you must:
* Employing IBM’s design thinking to create products that provide a great user experience along with high performance, security, quality and stability; Ensure implemented solutions are unit tested and ready to be integrated into their product
* Demonstrate a growth and continuous learning mindset. Stay up-to-date with IBM’s strategy and offerings while understanding Docker and Kubernetes technical principles
* Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills along with a keen desire to develop quality code in the Agile process
* Design, code, and test innovative component-level solutions in areas such as cloud foundation, cloud services, cloud management applications, machine learning, computational linguistics, natural language processing, and security applications
* Use DevOps practices and techniques to plan and build software applications
Required experience
* Over 5 years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Cloud Platforms, Rapid Integration, API Management, Application Modernization and DevOps.
* Over 3 years of hands-on experience building cloud-native solutions based on containers (Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, etc.)
* More than 2 years of hands-on experience developing/deploying/operating solutions on AWZ, Azure, IBM Cloud or Google Cloud.
* Over 3 years working experience in common development frameworks (Spring, ReactJS, AngularJS, NodeJS, Ruby) and programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, Go)
* Experience in implementing different microservice patterns (circuit breaker pattern, barrier pattern, backend pattern for front end patterns, side buffering patterns, etc.)
* More than 2 years of hands-on experience building and deploying APIs (RESTful, etc.)
Hands-on experience designing and implementing cloud solutions that apply CI/CD best practices (DevOps, DevSecOps and/or GitOps)
* Extensive understanding of both public cloud and on-premises infrastructure (network, storage, security, and edge) and infrastructure coordination.
* Knowledge and practical experience of both traditional and cloud-native application platforms.
* Understand where updating across applications, integration, data, infrastructure, and practices can be used to make a positive business impact, and identify patterns that are working and pitfalls to avoid.
Favorite Experience
* Cloud certification in at least one subscale (AWZ, Azure, IBM Cloud, or Google Cloud)
* Certification on one of the container platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Tanzo, Rancher)
* Experience in implementing, troubleshooting, upgrading and managing Red Hat OpenShift and IBM Cloud Paks
* Experience in OpenStack, Terraform and Ansible
